A bit of Operation change. It has been almost year since store has opened and I see the buying habits of my customers. It seems that many buy bulk and froze them at home.
Well, if that is the case, the store will froze breads so that we conserve the freshness.
From February, all the products will be shipped with Yamato cool delivery, frozen.
I still keep an option for a normal delivery for those who prefer. The choice of delivery dates may be limited but I will try to accommodate for you.
I love Stollen so much that I decided to continue to bake till end February. That would make a great gift for Valentines, don't you think ? I want one.
The only things is that Japanese custom of St Valentine is the day where a female sends a gift to a male partner ! Not reciprocal.
(Then March 14th, called white day, a male sends something to a female partner.)
Well, we will see how that goes... (If you are interested, please refer the Order form. Any occasions are welcome !)
During Christmas break, my husband and I visited Ghibri Museum. The real New Year ornament is like this. So please do not get confused. A traditional version doesn't come with eyes and ears.
We weren't really big fun of Ghibri (or cartoons , animation for that matter ) so we thought we would go there for the first time and the last time.
But, no way. Once we get there, we enjoyed so much that we lost tracking time. Now we know why Japaneses animations are highly recognized. Grown-ups like us spend a full day and lost ourselves in the Ghibri world.
Here is my new year's resolution: continue to challenge myself to go over stereotypes and ordinaries. Keep believing in myself that I can do it. Accumulation of small steps and challenges will lead to the happiness in our life.

This morning, I blogged about how I am into 24K gold leaf and my way of pass-time is to visit temples and shrines admiring its beauty and techniques. (Blog on Golld Leaf Part 1)
It was through the work-shop held by Master Fujisawa, the gold-leaf artisan, whom I have met for the first time. I could actually experienced the gold leaf decoration technique, turning plastic earnings into gold ones !

These are the only two shots from the entire process but many others process are in between. A full day oｆ work shop was just enough to savoir the taste and it was more than enough for me. (sweating !)
After the work-shop, we discussed about how the artisan social circle shifted. Until very recently, they didn't come to the front line. They always had a someone contacted clients on behalf. And clients are only those relating with Temples and shrines. So if it were 50 years ago, having a work-shop or decorating accessories were no go !
But the time is shifted and now artisans are in liberal environment. Like Master Fujisawa, who established his career as gold-leaf artisans, he is willing to apply his skills on new area. He mentioned his area of business are expanding to arts and home interiors. "Is there anything you can't apply gold-leaf ? Any kind of materials ?" I asked by curiosity. "Anything solid, I can do. Like woods, plastic, iron etc. Soft material like tissue, paper are different techniques so I don't do them."
That means we can apply gold-leaf pretty much everything !
