夏期の休業6月～8月・Summer Closure June - August

夏期休暇のお知らせです。
告知がぎりぎりになってしまいすみません。

通常８月をお休みとさせて頂いておりますが、今年は６月～８月の３カ月お休みを頂きます。
９月から通常メニューにより１日より発送いたします。
ご注文は夏期休暇の期間もメールで受け付けております。

５月の最終発送は３１日となります。

夫がアメリカに行く事になりました。去年より社会人を継続しながら大学に入り勉強を始めた彼ですが、アメリカの先生に教えを請う事になりました。
先週やっと学生ＶＩＳＡがおり、日程が決まりました。
いよいよ、というところに来て、お勉強で頭が一杯らしく心ここにあらずです。

お風呂の栓を閉め忘れて、いつまでもお湯がたまらなかったり、洗濯のタイマーをセットし忘れたり。私も少なからず影響を受けております。（お湯もったいないからホントやめて。）

受験生のいるご家庭の気持ちが少しわかるような気がします。

『危なっかしいので、最初の一週間は少なくとも一緒に行ってサポートしよう。
でもせっかく航空券買って行くなら、一週間で帰るのはもったいないなぁ。アメリカ国内旅行したいし。ＬＣＣで国内移動めっちゃ安いし。』

これは、プレッシャーゼロで、お気楽ポンチな私の心の声です。

とにかく行きは同行する事にしました。何時までいるかは現地での状況次第ですが、
カノエのパン工房は少し長めの夏休みを頂きます。

ご迷惑をおかけいたしますが、どうぞよろしくお願い致します。

サロン・ド・カノエ

It is a short notice and sorry for that but Salon de Kanoes will be closed from the beginning of June till the end August.
It is irregular as we usually close only the month of August.

It is due to a family reason.
My husband enrolled in University program since last year as a mature student.
He has been studying and working at the same time.
His study required to seek the advice from a professor from Stanford.

It is exiting news for us ! I have never been to US west coast !
At the beginning he was too excited. He was once in LA so being west coast bring back his good old memories. However, the tone changed recently.
He feels more pressure than excitement.
He is so out there now.
I mean he forgets simple task of chores.
For example, he one day left a key on the door ! 😵
This is country side and safe neighborhood. But really, I guess this is beyond the limitation.

It reminds me of my University days. It was hard. I was too stressed.
First year I barely notice my hunger.
In the second year I had an ulcer.

Every one feels stress and body expresses different way.

"But you are there only for four weeks !" I tried to encourage him.

"This is exactly the reason why I am stressed. Only four weeks to learn and deliver output."

Oh, I see....

I decided to go with him to support, making sure to lock the door. 

Of course, a couple of days of trip for me won't hurt. 😋

今日の訪問者・A Green Visitor 2

先日遊びに来てくれたアマガエルは2日間滞在してくれました。（前回のブログ）

今日は緑の虫みっけ。👇　バッタかな？
フェンスの茶色に緑が映えてきれい。とても目立ちます。保護色になってませんが…大丈夫？

Previous days, we had a visitor of a little flog. (Previous blog about a flog)

Today, I found a .... glass hopper (probably ?)
Green is bright and well spotted... may be by birds ?
Should you be camouflaging  on the glass field ?

お庭の工事が一段落して、人にやって頂く工程は、ほぼ終わりました。
さぁ、ここからは私たち次第。

お庭のお手入れを、楽しみながら日常に如何に取り入れていくか。

雨上がりの雑草とりは楽しい。まずは雨の日の翌日のガーデニングを習慣にしよう。
30分でもいい、お庭に出る事にします。
そして今日からスタート。
昨日は一日中シトシト降りましたね。お庭の土は湿っていて、
どくだみの根を、地中の奥まで掘り探れるはず。

意気込みマックスでお庭に出たら、薔薇の茂みにお休み中のカエルを発見。

わぁ～幸先良いわ！

除草剤の散布もなく、化学肥料をやるわけでもない。
竹酢をスプレーするぐらいなので、薔薇には虫食いはあるし、雑草も手で抜かないといけない。
でもそれは、こんな風に生き物が訪れてくれる庭であってほしいから。

頑張るね。😙

The professional part of work is almost done in our garden renovation.
Now it is our turn to wok.
From now on it will be a routine and we have to fit the gardening time to our day-to-day in the most amusing way.

One thing we enjoy is picking weeds after the rain. The water softens the soil which is easy to dig the weeds root. Oh ya. Hunt down to the deep !

Yesterday, it was raining all day but the sun was bright this morning.
A gardening habit starts today ! 

Then I spotted a small visitor.

A little frog !

There is no ponds or anything watery in my neighborhood so I don't know how this fellow dropped by. Nevertheless, this is a good sign. My garden welcomes all creature belong to the nature. 😘

父の庭とモグラの住処・My Dad's Garden and Moles

千葉の房総方面に来ています。小さいですが泊れるスペースがあります。両親の持ち物で、父が毎月幾日かの田舎生活を楽しんでいます。空いている時は私たちも使わせてもらっています。今回はＧＷの旅行と言うよりは私の個人的な“おこもり”です。

６月から一ヶ月程、夫婦で西海岸に行く事になりました。その前に済ませて置きたい事務作業があり、日常から隔離されたこの小さな隠れ家で集中するぞぉ～、という意気込みの“おこもり”です。

久々に家を使うので、父から『手引書』が届きました。

①　水道やガスの元栓が、庭のどこで開閉するか、とか
②　近くのスーパーの情報など。
ここでの生活に必要なＨｏｗ　Ｔｏのリストです。

そして５項目目。

③　庭の凸凹はモグラの通行跡です。朝７時前後に活動しますので、じっとみて土が動いたら退治して下さい。これが本当のモグラたたきです。

？！？☆　☆？！？

あぁ。確かに。もぐら塚があちこちに。歩きにくいっちゃ歩きにくいけど、私的には許容範囲ですが、庭に芝を植えると意気込んでいる父にするとNGみたいです。

しかし、私は参戦しませんよ。モグラ、かわいそうじゃないですか。
子供の頃に一度だけ実物をみたことあるんです。可愛いの。😋

こんな装置も設置されていました。ピー　ピー　と定期的に音がします。
モグラに場所を移動してもらう方法なので、まだ友好的かしら？

モグラさん、このへんはまだまだ空き地の方が多いので、どうかいい場所見つけて下さいね。

でも、たまには家にも遊びに来てね～。モグラさんは土を柔らかく耕してくれるんですよね。


I spend a couple of days at my parents' summer house. A half vacation but a half work. I need to get some paper work done before I leave to San Francisco to meet up with my husband.
So I packed bathing suits as well as documents files.

It has been a while since I visited this place last time so my dad passed me a list of to do things for getting us to be settled.

First, I need to open up the water and gas bulbs in the back of the house.
There is an address to the nearest grocery store.

There are about 10 items by priority order.

Now come to Nr. 5.

5. The bumps on the garden is done by moles. They start to work around seven in the morning. Watch carefully on the surface of the ground and if you spot any molehills, hit them.
This is a real "Whac-A-Mole."

Oh dear. 😵

My dad recently started DIY lawn care and molehills don't fit in his ideal view of his front yard.

Nevertheless I don't think I would participate. This is their game not mine.
Besides, I have seen a real mole once; it was a cute creature.

Later he got a new device for a mole. The device gives out the sound and mole tend to relocate their route.

This summer house is in the real country side where more field than residence.
I hope moles find a better place to live. But to be honest, I would like them to visit us time to time. Not that they are cute (we don't get to see their face anyway) but molehill is good soil to grown vegetable.
